We are recruiting a Care Assistant Supervisor on behalf of a private nursing home which provides care to the elderly in the Belfast area.

The nursing home is part of a small family run Nursing Home Group which promotes a culture of working as one team and putting residents at the heart of each of their homes.

The Care Assistant Supervisor will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager / Senior Staff Nurses / Staff Nurses and undertake tasks and duties delegated. They will be responsible for all Senior Care Assistant duties such as administering medications to residents and working with the care team to meet the needs of the residents whilst following policies and procedures in place. They will also be responsible for the Care Assistant rota, inducting new care staff, performance reviews and audits of care staff documentation.

We are recruiting a Staff Nurse on behalf of a Nursing Home which provides care to the elderly in the Coleraine area.

 

The home is part of a small private company who offer supported living and nursing home care.

 

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for acting in accordance with the highest standard of care in the clinical area and to act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the home.

 

You will work as part of the larger care team to promote all aspects of wellbeing and meet service user needs.

 

The Ideal Candidate will:

 

  • Set and maintain the highest standard of care in the clinical area.
  • Act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the home.
  • Supervise care staff & ancillary staff within the home
  • Ensure safe and effective care is delivered to the patient and to work as part of a cohesive team.
  • Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional standards of practice and behavior for nurses and midwives 2015.
  • Be familiar with the Care Standards for Nursing Homes and
  • Be familiar with the RQIA inspection process and accommodating RQIA inspectors in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
  • Act as Deputy Manager in the absence of the Nurse Manager.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient admission is effective
  • Support and assist the nurse manager with infection control audits
  • Prepare the patients for their procedures
  • Ensure that all patients proceeding to surgery have a full understanding of the risks and the benefits of the treatment
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Develop good interpersonal relationships with the patients, relatives and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate as a member of the theatre nursing team in anaesthetics, scrub, circulating and recovery.

In order to be successful for this role you will need:

  • Be live on the NMC Register
  • Theatre experience(essential)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ophthalmic experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
